In the presented publication, we examine the current issues of secondary vocational education in Slovakia, especially in the context of preparing students of technically oriented fields for the needs of practice. We emphasize the examination of the connection between the spatial imagination of students of technically oriented secondary vocational schools and their ability to solve stereometric tasks that are relevant to their field of study and the representation of space. Pedagogical research was also created and implemented on this issue, the results of which are also presented in the presented publication. Given the results obtained, samples of innovative teaching material were designed and prepared with the integration of modern teaching methods and other teaching aids, including information and communication technology. The author's original designs of didactic materials are intended to support the teaching of mathematics in secondary schools with regard to the issue of the representation of space.
